1.- BACKGROUND
In accordance with Spanish regulations governing the use of cookies in the provision of electronic communications services, as set out in Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 of July 11, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce, we inform you about the cookies used on the website of INVEST CAN TAULINA SL and the purpose of their use.
2.- WHAT ARE COOKIES?
A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your computer when you access certain websites. Cookies allow a website, among other things, to store and retrieve information about a user’s or their device’s browsing habits and, depending on the information they contain and how the device is used, they may be used to recognize the user. Cookies are associated only with an anonymous user and their computer or device and do not provide references that allow the user’s personal data to be identified.
3.- TYPES OF COOKIES
3.1.- According to the entity that manages them
a. First-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a device or domain managed by the website editor and from which the requested service is provided.
b. Third-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a device or domain not managed by the website editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
3.2.- According to their purpose
There are many purposes for using cookies. Depending on the purpose for which data obtained through cookies is processed, the main categories are:
a) Technical cookies: These allow the user to navigate through a website, platform, or application and use the different options or services available, including those used by the editor to manage and operate the website and enable its functions and services. Examples include controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering the items in an order, carrying out a purchase process, managing payment, preventing fraud related to the service’s security, enrolling or participating in an event, counting visits for software license billing, using security features while browsing, storing content for video or audio dissemination, enabling dynamic content (e.g., loading animation of text or images), or sharing content on social networks.
Technical cookies are exempt from compliance with the obligations of Article 22.2 of the LSSI when they are necessary to provide the service requested by the user, as with the examples above. However, if they are also used for non-exempt purposes (e.g., behavioral advertising), they will be subject to those obligations.
b) Preference or personalization cookies: These remember information so the user can access the service with specific characteristics that differentiate their experience from that of other users, such as language, the number of search results shown, the layout or content based on the browser used, or the region from which the service is accessed.
If the user selects these features (e.g., by clicking a country flag to choose the language), these cookies are considered a service explicitly requested by the user and are therefore exempt from the obligations of Article 22.2 of the LSSI—provided they serve only the selected purpose.
c) Analytics or measurement cookies: These allow the party responsible for them to monitor and analyze the behavior of users on websites to which they are linked, including quantifying ad impacts. The information collected is used to measure website, app, or platform activity in order to make improvements based on user usage data analysis.
d) Behavioral advertising cookies: These store information on user behavior obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, enabling the creation of a specific profile to show advertising based on that profile.
3.3.- According to the length of time they remain active
a) Session cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are typically used to store information relevant only to providing the service requested by the user on a single occasion (e.g., a list of purchased items) and disappear once the session ends.
b) Persistent cookies: These store data on the user’s device for a period defined by the cookie owner, which may range from a few minutes to several years.
4.- LIST OF COOKIES USED ON THIS WEBSITE
Using cookies offers benefits in the provision of services in what is known as the information society. It facilitates user navigation and access to various services offered by the website, eliminates the need for users to configure general features every time they access the website, and improves website operation and the services provided, based on the analysis of information collected through installed cookies.
